As we have all heard, election day was not a good day for the real estate developers in Orange County.
The Florida GOP was shocked that in the midst of the Trump Red Wave, thousands of Environment-friendly Republicans rejected Boyd and Arthur and crossed party lines to vote for democrat Nicole Wilson.
Why? They wanted to stop GOP candidates who were planning to black top over what’s left of the wildlife areas of Western Orange County.
As a result, former Commissioner and wannabe kingpin Scott Boyd is now Orange County’s biggest LOSER.
It’s so bad for Scott Boyd; we’re hearing that the GOP power brokers in Tallahassee consider him highly toxic. They have even stopped answering his calls on Wednesday.
One GOP powerbroker who mistakenly picked up their phone told Boyd, “Scott Boyd? I don’t know a Scott Boyd. You have the wrong number!”
Why? All of his handpicked candidates went down in flames.
The candidates included indicted state representative Carolina Amesty who lost her cushy chair at the state house to Leonard Spencer. Spencer beat her by about 600 votes. It now looks like Amesty will be serving the public at the Lowell Correctional Institute.
Boyd also recruited his pals in the real estate and the hospitality industry to spend millions of dollars to fund three GOP candidates for the County Commission.
He recruited Steve Leary to take on Kelly Semrad in District 5. Semrad beat Leary by 15,000 votes. He also recruited Linda Stewart to take on Mayra Uribe in District 3. Uribe also beat the Boyd backed Stewart by 5,000 votes.

We received a tip that Florida GOP leaders are now questioning Scott Boyd’s judgment and sanity so it appears he has now lost all political influence he might have once had.
So much for his delusions of grandeur of becoming the Kingpin of Orange County.
