Austin Arthur Does Not Believe In The Separation Of Church And State. He Also Claims West Orange Residents Have Declared War On Christmas

Austin Arthur, a high school dropout and GED holder from a Miami juvenile detention facility thinks he a constitutional scholar.
Let’s face it. Austin Arthur is a Christian Nationalist cult member. He may try to downplay it public but the truth is he is a Christian Nationalist. If given a microphone and authority of elected office he will shove his whacked out Kirk Cameron style Christian beliefs down your throat. Why? Well, it appears Austin Arthur does not believe in the separation of church and state. He even said so.
On his December 1, 2022 podcast, Austin spent nearly 7 minutes raging against the idea of separation of church and state.
In his podcast, he claims that there is no such thing as separation of church and state in the U.S. Constitution.
However, like everything else he claims, it’s all word salad bullshit. This is also a common lie Christian Nationalists like to push.
Yes, Thomas Jefferson coined the phrase, “Separation of Church and State” and that specific term is not in the Constitution. However, clauses declaring a separation are in the U.S. Constitution appear a total of 5 times. Here they are:
Article 6, Section 2 states:
“No law shall be made respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.”
Article VI, Clause 3, Paragraph 1:
The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.
Article VI, Clause 3, Paragraph 2:
The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.
Article VI, Clause 3, Paragraph 3:
The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.
First Amendment:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
It’s kind of humorous and scary listening to a narcissistic high school drop with a GED attempting to be a constitutional scholar.
Maybe he should start by actually reading the Constitution and actually look up Supreme Court case law. RealAustinArthur.com did.
The U.S. Supreme Court Has Also Ruled Multiple Times Upholding “Separation of Church and State”
Since he referenced Thomas Jefferson in his misguided and bizarre rant, let look at what the U.S. Supreme Court said:
Reynolds v. United States, 98 U.S. 145 (1878)
Jefferson’s concept of “separation of church and state” first became a part of Establishment Clause jurisprudence in Reynolds v. United States, 98 U.S. 145 (1878). The court concluded that “coming as this does from an acknowledged leader of the advocates of the measure, it may be accepted almost as an authoritative declaration of the scope and effect of the amendment thus secured.”
Everson v. Board of Education, 330 U.S. 1 (1947)
The U.S. Supreme Court then reinforced the centrality of the “separation” concept to the Religion Clauses of the Constitution. They were very explicit in Everson v. Board of Education, 330 U.S. 1 (1947). This was the first case in which the court applied the Establishment Clause to the laws of a state. They interpreted the due process clause of the Fourteenth Amendment as applying the Bill of Rights to the states as well as the federal government. They again cited Thomas Jefferson. the court concluded that “The First Amendment has erected a wall between church and state. That wall must be kept high and impregnable. We could not approve the slightest breach.”
Engel v. Vitale, 370 U.S. 421 (1962)
In 1962, the Supreme Court addressed the issue of officially sponsored prayer or religious recitations in public schools.
In Engel v. Vitale, 370 U.S. 421 (1962), the Court, by a vote of 6–1, determined it unconstitutional for state officials to compose an official school prayer and require its recitation in public schools, even when the prayer is non-denominational and students may excuse themselves from participation.
Austin Arthur Claims West Orange Communities Are Declaring A War On Christmas
What started Austin Arthur’s misguided claims about the U.S. Constitution? About 10 minutes into the podcast, Austin also accused West Orange residents of declaring war on Christmas. Unfortunately, Spotify doesn’t allow you to fast forward or rewind. So, you’re stuck listening to a nauseating Austin Arthur speak in a Paul Harvey monotone style voice.
Austin began by bemoaning that he and his friends can’t cite biblical scripture on the steps of city hall because it might offend people.
Always the victim, Arthur also complained how he got hate mail from people attacking him. What did he do? According to Arthur, he posted scripture under a picture of his family with the Mayor of Winter Garden standing in front of a Christmas Tree at City Hall. So, being the perpetual victim, Austin claimed they were attacking his faith in God.
He states sarcastically, “Democracy which everyone likes to talk about was in full effect.”
Austin Arthur ever the one to claim victimhood to a mass conspiracy, claims he was a victim of “groups of people who attack people in unison to try to bully people into submission.”
Where do these groups operate that want to ‘silence” Austin Arthur’s faith? They are all located in West Orange.
