Dumbass Austin Arthur Could Cost Several Local Non-Profits Their 501(c)3 Tax-Exempt Status From The IRS

Austin arthur could cost Yep. That’s right. Austin Arthur may have cost several local non-profits their 501(c)3 tax-exempt status from the IRS.

Why? Well, Austin Arthur decided to change the tone of his campaign. He wanted people to see him as a man about town. So, he popped into several Orange County non-profits where he is a board member.

Austin Arthur’s goal was to do photo ops with his signature campaign hat and T-shirt.

The photos give the impression that local non-profits like Habitat For Humanity, Jobs Partnership and One Winter Garden are endorsing Arthur’s candidacy for the Orange County Commission. Unfortunately for Austin Arthur, this is a violation of IRS rules that govern non-profits.

IRS Rules Are Quite Clear On This. This is what the IRS says about the issue:

Can a tax-exempt organization endorse candidates for public office?

The type of tax exemption determines whether an organization may endorse candidates for public office. For example, a section 501(c)(3) organization may not publish or distribute printed statements or make oral statements on behalf of, or in opposition to, a candidate for public office. Consequently, a written or oral endorsement of a candidate is strictly forbidden. The rating of candidates, even on a nonpartisan basis, is also prohibited. On the other hand, a section 501(c)(4), (5), or (6) organization may engage in political campaigns, provided that such activities are not the organization’s primary activity.

Several people from Orange County have already filed complaints with the IRS. Another person has filed a complaint with county for Arthur pretending to have an endorsement from Orange County Animal Services.

Orange County Animal Services is a government agency run by the county. Therefore, they can’t endorse candidates for public office. He also claims he is endorsed by the Winter Garden Architectural Review and Historic Preservation Board which is a board that answers to the City of Winter Garden.

As one West Orange County resident told us:

“Austin and Zander Arthur leave a trail of so much bullshit that you could fertilize the Sanai Peninsula!”

Is it simply Austin Arthur doesn’t care? Like a drug addict he is, does he have no shame playing on the ignorance and naivete of voters? Or does he just lack the basic skills to know better? After all, he did get his GED while in Juvie.
